Instant Pot/Pressure Cooker

It’s time everyone jumps on the Instant Pot Macaroni & Cheese bandwagon. I am a lover of macaroni & cheese like many others are but I don’t know how the Instant Pot does it but this darn machine is magical.

I had a couple of helpers for the macaroni & cheese. They all ate it up…TWICE.  Kid AND adult approved. Now it’s your turn to make.  Find recipe below.

Macaroni and Cheese Recipe

Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz box elbow macaroni or pasta of choice
  • 2 TBS unsalted butter
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • 1 TBS yellow mustard
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Add the macaroni, butter, salt, pepper, hot sauce, mustard and water into the inner pot of the Instant Pot.
  2. Stir all ingredients together. Put lid on pot and seal the valve. Push manual and adjust time to 4 minutes.
  3. When done, quick release all pressure.
  4. Open lid and press cancel then push saute. Adjust to low mode for saute. Pour in milk and heavy cream and stir. (may need more liquid depending on how thick the sauce is)
  5. Stir in cheese, about a 1/2 cup at time allowing for cheese to melt into the macaroni. You can add more or less cheese depending on how cheesy you’d like your pasta.
  6. Press cancel when melted and serve.
