Hummus is a favorite around here. We always have the ingredients to make this on hand. The 2 year old loves it too. I understand that you can just make regular ole hummus and it’s good but when you add on seasoned ground beef and onions, it’s WAYYYYY better.

Ingredients
Hummus
- 1 15 oz can chickpeas, drained
- 4 TBS tahini paste
- 2 TBS Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 TBS lemon juice
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/2 tsp paprika
Ground Beef
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder

- 1 large onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

Brown 1 lb or ground beef. Once browned, stir in salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. Sit aside.

While beef is browning, cut 1 large onion into a half moon. Thinly slice onions.

Place 1 TBS EVOO into skillet over medium heat. Saute onions until they become translucent; about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.

Place garbanzo beans, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, water and garlic, into a food processor and process until smooth, about 1 minute.

To assemble dish, place hummus on plate and top with ground beef and onions. Sprinkle with paprika.

Serve with pita bread or naan.
