So making french fries from those red bags are so over for me. I don’t even waste my freezer space anymore. Making these oven fries really doesn’t take any time at all and it’s actually cheaper too.
I make my fries two ways. One way is I put them in the oven at 500°F and let them bake for about 30 min. My new way is putting them in my Instant Pot for 2 minutes on manual and then crisping in the oven on 500°F for an additional 5 minutes. Either way, they are delicious and can’t make it on the table fast enough.
Traditional Oven Recipe:
- Cut 3 russet potatoes into wedges and place on to baking sheet
- Drizzle the potatoes with enough extra-virgin olive oil to coat
- Season with Italian dried seasoning, salt and pepper
- Bake on 500°F for 20 minutes
- Remove from oven and add 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Roast an additional 10 minutes
Instant Pot (Pressure Cooker) and Oven Recipe:
- Cut 3 russet potatoes into wedges and place on to baking sheet
- Drizzle the potatoes with enough extra-virgin olive oil to coat
- Season with Italian dried seasoning, salt and pepper
- Add 1 cup water to Instant Pot (Pressure Cooker)
- Place potatoes on top of trivet
- Manual setting for 2 minutes (you may quick release)
- Remove from Instant Pot, place on baking sheet and top with 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Roast an additional 10 minutes on 500°F
That’s it! It’s so easy and so much better. I sort of ate mine with a piece of steak that does look burnt but I am the well-done kind of meat eater. Shame on me?
